How to use O.L.I.V.E.R.

Students
After logging in, OLIVER can be used to search for and download learning objects such as images and videos related to Veterinary and Animal Science. A search can be conducted for individual images, Groups (Groups link objects that have a relationship and do not form a case) and Cases (Cases link objects that follow a sequence of events). Both simple and advanced search options are available.

By clicking on 'Feedback' students are also welcome to contribute comments or questions on any technical, search or content issues. Feedback on individual images or the text associated with them can be given by clicking on 'Feedback on this image', available with every record

Staff
In addition to using OLIVER's search capabilities, staff can add learning objects to the website by clicking on 'Create'. Using this function, images can be categorised into Groups (Groups link objects that have a relationship and do not form a case) or Cases (Cases link objects that follow a sequence of events) where appropriate. OLIVER has the flexibility to allow the inclusion of a single image in multiple Groups and Cases if desired.

An edit function is available on OLIVER. By clicking on 'Edit' the text associated with any Image, Group or Case can be amended. The system will not allow anybody other than the original submitter and the OLIVER management team to edit any contributions to OLIVER.

Staff may contribute comments or questions on any technical, search or content issues on OLIVER by clicking on 'Feedback'. Feedback on individual images or the text associated with them can be given by clicking on 'Feedback on this image', available with every record.
